What To Send


To ensure that your job is printed correctly and on schedule, please be sure to include everything we need to successfully output your digital file. This should include:

  1. Document File
  2. Images (convert to CMYK if printing in 4 color)
  3. Graphics (check for proper spot colors or CMYK if 4 color)
  4. All fonts included in document (some fonts have both screen and printer parts, be sure to send both parts) also be sure to send all fonts used in any eps files included in your document
  5. PDF Sample (while not required, it helps us better assure your file prints correctly)
  6. Many programs include a feature to “Package Up” your files. Two of the most popular programs have examples listed below.

 

Quark Express


Quark Express includes a feature calledsend_1
“Collect for Output”

  1. Open the document you wish to send
  2. Create a folder on your desk top (call it what you like)
  3. Under File select “Collect for Output” from the menu
  4. In the Collect window make sure to check all, except Color Profiles
  5. Save job to the Collect folder you created in step 2
  6. When finished, open the Collect folder you created on your desktop and check the contents

* Collect for Output WILL NOT collect any fonts used in eps files that may be included in your document. You will need to manually add these fonts to your Collect folder.

InDesign


InDesign includes a feature called send_2
“Package”

  1. Open the document you wish to send
  2. Under File, select Package from the menu
  3. In the Package window make sure to check Copy Fonts, Copy Linked Graphics, and Update Graphic Links
  4. When finished, open the Package folder InDesign created and check the contents
